Technical Writer

VerifyStack $90K – $130K (contract equivalent) Remote

About the Role

We're looking for a Technical Writer to create world-class developer documentation for VerifyStack. You'll write API references, integration guides, tutorials, and architecture docs — making our fraud detection platform easy to understand and adopt for developers of all experience levels.

What You\'ll Do

Write and maintain comprehensive API reference documentation for all VerifyStack endpoints (OpenAPI-backed)
Create step-by-step integration guides for common use cases: login protection, payment fraud, bot detection, account takeover
Build interactive quickstart tutorials that get developers from zero to working integration in under 10 minutes
Document SDK usage (Browser SDK), including code samples in JavaScript/TypeScript, cURL, and Python
Write architecture docs, security whitepapers, and compliance guides (GDPR, SOC 2)
Maintain the docs site structure, navigation, and search functionality
Collaborate with engineers to stay ahead of new features and API changes
Review and edit engineering blog posts for clarity, accuracy, and SEO

Requirements

3+ years of technical writing experience, ideally for developer-facing products (APIs, SDKs, or platforms)
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP, JSON, and authentication patterns (API keys, OAuth)
Ability to read and understand code in JavaScript/TypeScript (you'll be writing code samples daily)
Experience with docs-as-code workflows (Markdown, Git, static site generators)
Excellent command of written English — clear, concise, and scannable technical prose
Experience with OpenAPI / Swagger specifications
Portfolio of published technical documentation

Nice to Have

Experience documenting security, fraud, or payments products
Familiarity with Next.js, React, or modern frontend frameworks
SEO writing experience for developer content
Video or screencast creation skills
Experience with MDX, Nextra, or Docusaurus
