Engineering Remote Full-time Senior
DevOps Engineer
VerifyStack $170K – $230K + equity Remote
About the Role
We need a DevOps Engineer to own VerifyStack's infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and production reliability. You'll ensure our fraud detection APIs maintain their SLA uptime guarantees, scale automatically under load, and remain secure across a global edge deployment.
What You\'ll Do
- Own the CI/CD pipeline: GitHub Actions workflows, automated testing, preview deployments, and production rollouts on Vercel
- Design and maintain infrastructure-as-code for PostgreSQL (Neon), Redis/KV stores, monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana), and alert systems
- Implement and monitor SLA/SLO dashboards — latency percentiles, error budgets, uptime tracking, and incident response automation
- Build the observability stack: structured logging, distributed tracing, metrics aggregation, and anomaly-based alerting
- Manage secrets, API key rotation, certificate management, and security hardening across all environments
- Optimize edge deployment: cache strategies, CDN configuration, regional routing, and cold-start mitigation
- Design disaster recovery procedures, automated backups, and chaos engineering experiments
- Participate in on-call rotation and lead incident response and post-mortems
Requirements
- 4+ years of DevOps / SRE / platform engineering experience
- Strong experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCI)
- Proficiency with container orchestration (Kubernetes or Vercel/serverless)
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar)
- Solid understanding of networking, DNS, TLS, and CDN/edge architectures
- Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK)
- Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or TypeScript)
- Experience managing PostgreSQL in production (replication, backups, performance tuning)
Nice to Have
- Experience with Vercel, Next.js, or edge function platforms
- Knowledge of SOC 2, GDPR, or PCI-DSS compliance requirements
- Chaos engineering experience (Litmus, Gremlin, or custom)
- Experience with WASM-based tooling or edge compute
- Background in security operations or incident response
